How is a Lipectomy or Abdominoplasty performed?
The lipectomy is made a horizontal incision above the pubis of approximately 20 cm, very similar to the line of underwear so it is very easy to hide with your underwear.
Similarly, in lipectomy an incision is made around the navel so that it remains in its original place regardless of the displacement of the abdominal skin./em>.
Then the surgeon separates the skin of the abdomen upwards until reaching the ribs, exposing the muscles, these are tightened horizontally and united in the midline, which produces a firm abdominal wall and accentuates the waist.
The skin that has been separated is stretched towards the pubis, the excess skin is excised and the navel is placed in its original position, a drain is always left for approximately 5 days and an elastic compression garment or abdominal girdle must be placed from 1 to 3 months approximately depending on the case.
